4/28 – Team BCR and Grant Enfinger Make History at Salem Speedway

Team BCR and Grant Enfinger Make History at Salem Speedway

(Salem, IN – April 28, 2014)  Grant Enfinger made ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards history on Sunday when he earned his third consecutive win this season at Salem Speedway. The only other driver to win the first three races of an ARCA Racing Series season was back in 1970 when Ramo Stott won the Championship.

“This is unbelievable!” says Fairhope, AL’s Grant Enfinger. “Howard and Paula Bixman have given me great equipment and the resources to succeed. I can’t thank them enough.”

Enfinger and Team BCR had trouble during Saturday’s practice sessions, posting only the 15th fastest lap time. With plenty of doubt the No. 90 Motor Honey/Casite – Triple K Construction Ford had any chance at a win; the team had to find the right set up in the second practice session. That extra effort was shown when Enfinger posted the 2nd highest qualifying lap, behind Justin Boston in the #25.

Enfinger said, “I was a little concerned during the first practice session. We all had to take a step back and focus on what we needed to do to succeed. It all came together and I was shocked at how well we qualified. I told Howard Saturday night, you have to be proud of what we have built here, there is a lot of people envious of us.”

The No. 90 Motor Honey/Casite Ford powered by RoushYates Engines led the first 100 laps of the race with little to no issues to consider. “We all need to be proud for the car we brought here,” says Enfinger during the race, “This is the best piece of equipment I’ve had in years at Salem.”

When the first caution came out, Crew Chief Kelly Kovski made the call to bring in the No. 90 for a change of two tires and fuel only. Since the #98 took four tires, Enfinger fell back to 3rd. Kovski made the call to bring in the No. 90 one last time on lap 124, after another caution came out, for a change of four tires.

Enfinger fought hard with Ken Schrader in the #52 car up until the last two laps of the race where Schrader hit the wall, giving Enfinger the advantage and the ability to capture his 5thARCA Racing Series win.

“This race really shows how strong Team BCR is,” says Enfinger. “Howard has built a winning organization in a such a short time. We fought hard through practice and never gave up, and it showed in qualifying and throughout the entire race. I’m very proud of this team and the achievements we have made this season. The Motor Honey/Casite group has supported us over the years and we can’t thank them enough for their continued support along with Triple K Construction, Wurth and Stanley Industries for making this all happen.”

Team Owner, Howard Bixman said, “This was an incredible race for us once again. This season has already shown how much dedication and effort we put into building our cars. This team works so hard in the shop everyday and made all the necessary changes on Saturday, to make sure we could win. Grant has shown his talent as a driver today, overcoming many difficulties and coming out on top, once again. This shows the depth of our team and partners, I’m humbled by our accomplishments this season.”
