Championship Points Leader Grant Enfinger Earns Top-Ten Finish at Talladega
(Lincoln, AL – May 5, 2014) After three wins this season and qualifying on the pole during Friday’s group qualifying, Grant Enfinger and Team BCR broke their winning streak and earned a top-10 finish at Talladega Superspeedway in their fourth start of the season.
Enfinger in the No. 90 Motor Honey/Casite – Advance Auto Parts Ford Fusion, led 35 laps of the race. With no cautions to work with in those first 30 laps, Crew Chief, Kelly Kovski and Enfinger contemplated when to bring the No. 90 in. When they finally chose to do so, under green flag conditions, Enfinger was penalized with speeding and forced to come down pit road another time to serve the penalty, sending him back to 19th.
“I felt like we had the car to beat,” says Enfinger. “I just made a mistake on pit road. I started slowing down, then I saw cars going beside me and I didn’t want to lose track position, so I sped up.”
Enfinger gained backed the positions lost later in the race, making his way up to the 6th position, with the help from Josh Williams in the No. 6 car. Enfinger was still confident he could make a run for them at the end, but was unable to do so, finishing 9th.
Enfinger commented, “Even though we were unable to win at Talladega, we still had a great weekend; winning the pole and leading several laps of the race. Either way, we still gained points and we’re really excited to finally compete for the Championship. Howard (Bixman) has proven to all of us with dedication and hard work, you can succeed. He has given me great cars and is taking my career to a new level. This team is one of the premier driver development programs in this series.”

“I can’t say what it means to me to represent our marketing partners Motor Honey, Casite, Advance Auto Parts, MCG Contracting, Triple K Construction, Wurth and Stanley Industries for believing in this program and supporting our effort this year.”
