5/21 – Grant Enfinger Battles for the Lead at Toledo

Grant Enfinger Battles for the Lead at Toledo

(Mooresville, NC – May 21, 2013) Keeping the crowd on their toes and the television audience glued to their screen, Enfinger and race winner, Ken Schrader, went head to head for the majority of the Menards 200 at Toledo Speedway until an unexpected event took Enfinger out of a possible victory lane finish.

Enfinger knew the No. 90 Motor Honey/Casite, Hewes Concrete Polishing Ford Fusion was one of the cars to contend for the win. “We’ve qualified 8th or better in every race in 2013. This team has provided me with a top level, winning car every race this season.”

Starting from the 8th position, Enfinger quickly made his way up to the front of the field, showing the only competition he had was between Schrader in the No. 52 car. After leading 12 laps of the race, Enfinger settled back into the 2nd position.

Enfinger kept mentioning to the crew, he knew the No. 90 Motor Honey/Casite, Hewes Concrete Polishing Ford was going to be strong.

Trouble arose during the last 10 laps of the race when a right front tire was cut down and blew. Luckily, no damage was done to the car but after a two-tire pit stop in the closing laps of the race, the No. 90 RoushYates Powered Ford Fusion was sent back to the 15th position.

“I was so focused on running laps and looking for the right opportunity to take the lead, I didn’t even see this outcome coming,” says Grant Enfinger. “I was keeping up with Schrader, running door to door in the corners, but then he would get the edge on me on the straightaways. I think it would have been very exciting in the closing laps to be competing with a great veteran like Kenny.”

Enfinger also mentioned, “We had potential to win this race but it just wasn’t our day. I really can’t thank Howard Bixman and my crew enough for rebuilding this car in a few days and sacrificing as much as they do. This is a championship caliber team who has given me the best cars I’ve ever driven and we do this with such limited funding. I’m very grateful for our Marketing Partners who support Team BCR along with myself.”

Team Manager Howard Bixman said, “This was an unfortunate ending to our day. I want to thank the shop and road crew for all their extra effort and hard work; I truly appreciate all of them. This group that sacrifices so much and will work hard for another win this season.”

Howard Bixman admires Grant Enfinger’s positive attitude even when the day doesn’t go as planned. “He is a class act and a championship winning driver. We’re a small team with very little resources to work with, which makes it very hard sometimes to move forward. I want to thank all of our partners for all they do for us, along with believing in a group of people who had a business plan and a dream. Our success is our partner’s success.”

President & CEO John Antakli of The Casite Company has been very pleased with the amount of success Grant and Team BCR has experienced this season. “Another great run by Grant at Toledo. I’m so proud of our driver and team running neck and neck against an all time great: Ken Schrader. Grant was all class after the unfortunate ending and we couldn’t imagine being partnered with a better team or driver with the amount of talent, heart and class!”

Antakli also mentioned, “This is our first experience in Motorsports where a partner under promised and over delivered. We look forward to building on our partnership with Howard and Team BCR.”

Primary Associate Marketing Partner, Garry Hewes, Owner of Hewes Concrete Polishing could not be happier about making the decision to partner with Grant Enfinger and Team BCR. “When you’re partnering with a team, you want a team with a good reputation and that holds respectable team players. That’s exactly what we’ve seen from Grant Enfinger, Howard Bixman and the rest of Team BCR.”

Hewes also commented, “Grant introduced me to Kenny [Schrader] after the race. It’s interesting to see them competing so hard against each other during the race but then after the race, shake hands with another and joke around. Being affiliated with such a respectable driver and a wonderful team was an easy choice.”
