5/6 – Alabama’s Grant Enfinger Has to Settle with 16th at Talladega, Due to Rain

(Mooresville, NC – May 6, 2013)  Inclement weather ruined what could have been a top finish for Grant Enfinger and Team BCR. Enfinger qualified the No. 90 Motor Honey/Casite, Triple K Construction, Hewes Concrete Polishing Ford Fusion in the third position.

Slipping out of the draft in the first few laps of the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 250 at Talladega Superspeedway, Enfinger moved back into 9th. Drafting his way back up to the front, Grant became the leader of the race for few laps.

Team Manager/Crew Chief, Howard Bixman said, “We had such a great chance to win this race. Once the No. 90 Ford Fusion made its way up to the front of the field, the car was strong, thanks to our RoushYates powered engine. We worked hard to get the right balance in the car for qualifying and race trim.”

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Driver was involved in an accident on lap 34, when contact with the No. 35 sent Enfinger spinning.  With damage to the No. 90 Ford Fusion, Grant brought the car to pit road.

After making a few pit stops and making the proper repairs and adjustments, Enfinger was able to make his way back up to the sixth position. Coming to pit road for his final pit stop late in the race, Enfinger was then taken out of the top ten. Unfortunately, the rain picked up on lap 73, forcing the cars to come back down to pit road. The ARCA Racing Series officials then called the race, making the current position the ending result. Grant Enfinger finished the race in 16th.

“It’s unfortunate we weren’t able to finish the race. We could have easily made up plenty of spaces if we had those extra laps. Team BCR and Howard Bixman provided me with one of the best cars I’ve ever had at a speedway,” says Enfinger.

Enfinger is currently 4th in points for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Championship.

Besides having Primary Marketing Partner Motor Honey/Casite, Grant Enfinger had local support from Triple K Construction, making this race possible. Hewes Concrete Polishing, Wurth USA and Stanley Industries were also Associate Marketing Partners for the race.

Grant Enfinger also attended the Race Fever Event. The event is an annual fundraising event benefiting the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. Grant was interviewed on stage as well as signed autographs for those who participated in the event.
