Enfinger Finishes 7th After Multiple Incidents
(Mooresville, NC – April 29, 2013) Following many unexpected incidents throughout the Ford Dealers Kentuckiana 200 at Salem Speedway, Enfinger still managed to finish in 7th.
Starting 6th in the No. 90 Ford Fusion, Enfinger made his way up three positions within the first twenty laps of the race. Enfinger maintained his top 5 position for a majority of the race until a caution came out in lap 140. At this time, Enfinger was losing ground with the rest of the race leaders. Crew Chief, Kelly Kovski came over the radio mentioning, “This is exactly what we need!”
Coming in for a change of all four tires, Enfinger was sent out in the sixth position.
Tension rose when the No. 99 made contact with Enfinger. No substantial damage was done to the No. 90 Hewes Concrete, Motor Honey/Casite.com Ford Fusion and Enfinger was able to enter back into the race, competing for a win.
On lap 197, more trouble rose when the right front tire blew, sending the No. 90 Hewes Concrete, Motor Honey/Casite.com Ford Fusion into the wall. Changing one last tire before the race concluded, Grant Enfinger and Team BCR finished in 7th place.
“We had a great shot here to win at Salem,” says Driver, Grant Enfinger. “This is one of the craziest tracks on the ARCA Racing Series schedule, where wrecks are common. Even with the mishaps throughout the race, our team managed to finish in the 7th position. Howard Bixman and the crew at Team BCR gave me one of the best cars I’ve ever had here. ”
Enfinger also said, “I can’t thank everyone enough for all the support, including Howard Bixman, all the guys at Team BCR, and Crew Chief, Kelly Kovski. We brought Kelly here again this weekend to call the race. Kelly, along with the entire crew did a great job this weekend; we had great horsepower from RoushYates Engines. Team Manager / Crew Chief, Howard Bixman mentioned, “This was an intense race where both of our cars [No. 09 and No. 90] sustained heavy damage. Even with the unfortunate circumstances, they both managed to finish in the top 15. I’m proud of Grant for having the positive attitude he had throughout the race, even after multiple unlucky incidents. Grant is one of the top drivers in the series and one of most respected by his peers.”
