News and Notes:

• Welcome to the Playoffs… Following Grant Enfinger’s third career NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series win at Daytona International Speedway, the ThorSport Racing driver is locked into the 2020 Playoffs, which kick-off at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway on Friday, August 21, marking the third consecutive season Enfinger and the No. 98 team have made the Playoffs.
• Top Dog… For the first time since August, 2019 at Michigan International Speedway, Grant Enfinger takes over the top spot in the Gander Truck point standings. Enfinger, who won the Regular Season Champion title in 2019, led the series standings two times through 13 races last season.
• Sin City Stats… Enfinger will make his eighth career start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) in Friday night’s Gander Trucks event. In seven previous starts at the 1.5-mile track, the ThorSport Racing driver has a track-best start of third (2018-2), and has led 47 laps en route to one win (2018-2), two top-five and four top-10 finishes.
• Welcome Back… Protect The Harvest will adorn the No. 98 Ford F-150 of Grant Enfinger at LVMS for Friday night’s Strat 200. • This Week’s No. 98 Protect The Harvest/Curb Records Ford F-150… The No. 98 ThorSport Racing team will unload chassis No. 44 for Friday night’s Strat 200 at LVMS. This is the same chassis Enfinger piloted to victory lane at the 1.5-mile track in 2018 (September). Furthermore, this particular chassis has earned three poles; Homestead-Miami Speedway (2018), Texas Motor Speedway (March, 2019) and Kentucky Speedway (2019), and in the last 13 starts has secured six top-five and 10 top-10 finishes.
• Our Fearless Leader… 2020 will mark the fourth season that veteran crew chief Jeff Hensley will be calling the shots for the No. 98 team. In 17 seasons in the Gander Truck Series, Hensley has earned 15 wins, including two at LVMS with driver’s Mike Skinner (2006) and Grant Enfinger (2018).
• Ford Fact… Ford-powered F-150’s have found victory lane 100 times since 1995 in the Gander Truck Series including five times at LVMS with Joe Ruttman (1997), Greg Biffle (1999), Travis Kvapil (2007), Tyler Reddick (2016), and Grant Enfinger (2018).
• Truck Series Stats… Enfinger has 84 career Gander Truck starts to his credit since 2010. His success includes 615 laps led en route to three wins, five poles, 29 top-five and 54 top-10 finishes.

Chatting with Grant Enfinger…

Vegas has historically been a good track for you. Are you looking forward to getting back there this week?
“Yes, and I feel like we’ll go to Vegas this week with a little pep in our step. I think we’ll be able to try a few things that we haven’t necessarily been able to, not that we’ll go crazy or anything. Who knows, I might be hoping for a caution to come out a few laps before the end of a stage because we don’t necessarily have to go after all those stage points like we did last year. I feel like the win in Daytona gives us an advantage in terms of the play calling for Jeff Hensley (crew chief), so hopefully we can use that to our advantage. Vegas has historically been a good track for us, and we normally have a lot of speed there, so man I’m ready to go.”

So, you’ll be playin’ with house money for the remainder of the season?
“For the rest of the regular season, yes. We’re not gonna leave stage points on the table, but when there’s a choice between that and setting ourselves up for a better position at the end of the race, or better yet a win, we’re gonna go for that. That’s something we couldn’t do last year, or should I say something we chose not to do, and I feel like that’ll be an advantage for us the rest of the regular season.”
